Of all sad words of tongue or pen . . .

the saddest are these: 'It might have been'.

Fred did everything you can ask of a candidate. He raised money. He won debates. He worked a heavy schedule of campaign stops. Victory just wasn't there to be had.

He is the best president in the race, but he is not going to be elected, sadly. He's a great American.
